About the faculty member

Biography and academic profile

Tapaswini Biswal is an Assistant Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, where she has been serving since 2016. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at IIT Patna (since 2021). She completed her M.Tech in Power System Engineering with First Class Distinction from IIT(ISM) Dhanbad in 2016 and her B.Tech from IGIT Sarang in 2011. She qualified GATE with scores of 567 (2016) and 396 (2020) and received an MHRD Scholarship during her M.Tech. With prior industry experience at Kalinga Software Pvt. Ltd., she has guided several M.Tech and B.Tech projects and contributed to accreditation teams like IET, NBA, and ABET. She has published in reputed journals and conferences and has appeared for multiple competitive examinations, including BARC and OPSC.

Outreach Activity

  • Celebrated International day of art of giving on 17th June 2024, distributed food and clothes to needy people who are abandoned from their family members on Sirdi Sai Santha Aashram O Jara Nibas, Nandankanan Road, Raghunathpur. It taught us the value of selflessness and the positive impact that even small acts of giving can have on both the giver and the recipient.
  • Visited Aryabhat Education, Angul, Odisha, and interacted with the students and conducted a quiz test to promote academic excellence, stimulate intellectual curiosity, and encourage healthy student competition. We believe such events are crucial in providing students a platform to demonstrate their knowledge and skills. We distributed the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes among the students.
  • Visited Jindal Steel and Power Limited, Odisha, and discussed various electrical and industrial problems for collaborative research, which can benefit both.
