On 17 November 2023, the IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) Kolkata Section Chapter organized a Distinguished Lecturer (DL) presentation at the School of Electrical Engineering at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. The Chapter was glad to host PELS DL Dr. Sanjib Kumar Panda and listen to his lecture on “A Futuristic Medium-Voltage Grid-Connected Multi-Port Public Electric-Vehicle Ultra-Fast Charging-Station with G2V and V2G Capability.”
At the beginning of the presentation, Dr. Panda emphasized the novelty of fast charging from medium voltage grid connected to multiple types of plugged in electric vehicles (Figure 1). He then showed the results of hardware in loop (HIL) from the Real Time Digital Simulator where bidirectional flow of power (G2V and V2G) was evaluated.
