KIIT School of Electrical Engineering Organizes talk on “Leveraging of IPR”

A talk on “Leveraging of IPR” was organized by the School of Electrical Engineering (SOEE) , KIIT Deemed to be University on 11 th October 2022 at 4:30 PM.
The session was handled by Mr. Meghdut Bhattacharya, IPR Attorney, ISO Lead Auditor, Kolkata. In the session, Mr. Meghdut Bhattacharya outlined about the importance of IPR in  recent India. The workshop is basically based on the role and importance of Universities in the Indian IPR sector. Also discussed the right process to have granted the IPR and commercialization. Prof. Byamakesh Nayak, Dean, School of Electrical Engineering welcome him with grace, which was attended by faculty members and Technical assistants. The talk was coordinated by the Co-ordinator of School Development Committee, Dr. Ranjeeta Patel, SoEE.

KIIT School of Electrical Engineering Organizes Guest Lecture on “Energy security and Environmental Wellness- India’s Lens” ,

A guest lecture talk on “Energy security and Environmental Wellness-India’s Lens” was organized by the School of Electrical Engineering (SOEE) and school of Civil Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University on 4 th August 2022. The talk was delivered by Dr. Sanath Kumar Saha, Hony Professor, Rani Rashmoni Green University, Government of West Bengal. In the talk, Dr. Sanath Kumara Saha outlined about the Energy security and environmental wellness. He presents the recent and future effects of climate change on world and gave a clear picture on the natural calamities. He showed the participants about real impact of pollution.

KIIT School of Electrical Engineering Organizes Speak and Search Lecture on “Introduction to Latex” ,

1 st August, 2021

KIIT School of Electrical Engineering (SoEE) organized a workshop on 'Introduction to Latex' under Speak and Search Lecture Series on 01 th  Aug 2021. Prof. Subhendu Mishra from SoEE KIIT DU presented the details about the preparation of thesis, various journal papers and the PPT in Latex. He elaborates and makes hands on practice of document class and Environment, thesis organisation and paper writing using various packages like graphix, bibliography and indexing. He has given more emphasis on preparation of IEEE research paper format, text modification, math notations, tables and equations.
The workshop was attended by 57 participants provided an idea to gain the knowledge about documentation on open-source tool & also developed a basic
understanding of Latex. The workshop was coordinated by School Development committee members: Dr. Ranjeeta Patel, Dr. Sarita Samal, Dr. R. N. Dash, Prof.
Subrat Behera, Dr. Srikanth Allamsetty in the presence of Dr. Byamakesh Nayak, Dean, SoEE, faculty members, M. Tech scholars & Ph. D scholars of the school.

KIIT School of Electrical Engineering Organizes Tech Talk on “Microgrids from land, to the sea, and out in space” along with IEEE PELS Bhubaneswar/Kolkata Joint Chapter

An online Tech Talk on “Microgrids from land, to the sea, and out in space” was jointly organized by the School of Electrical Engineering (SOEE), KIIT Deemed to be University and IEEE PELS Bhubaneswar/Kolkata Joint Chapter on 13th February 2021.

Dr. Srinivas Bhaskar Karanki, IIT Bhubaneswar , Chair, IEEE PELS Bhubaneswar/Kolkata Joint Chapter  welcomed the dignitaries and participants. Prof. Byamakesh Nayak, Dean, SOEE, KIIT-DU address the gatherings and  thanked Prof. Josep M. Guerrero for his valuable time for the Tech Talk.  Dr. Subhranshu Ranjan Samantaray, IIT Bhubaneswar, Chair IEEE PELS graced the gatherings by his valuable words. In his talk, Prof. Josep M. Guerrero, Professor, Villum Investigator, Center for Research on Microgrids – CROM, Department of Energy Technology, Aalborg University, Denmark, outlined about the microgrid concept.

Power Electronics in Hydro-Electric Systems: Configurations, Challenges, and Future Scopes

An online Tech Talk on “Power Electronics in Hydro-Electric Systems: Configurations, Challenges, and Future Scopes” was organized by the School of Electrical Engineering (SOEE), KIIT Deemed to be University on 29th August 2020. The talk was a joint activity of KIIT, IEEE Consumer Electronics and IEEE Industrial Electronics Society Chapters, Bhubaneswar.

Prof. Chinmoy Kumar Panigrahi, Director, SoEE welcomed and thanked Prof. Chelliah for his valuable time for the Tech Talk.

In his talk, Prof. Thanga Raj Chelliah, School of Electrical Sciences, IIT Bhubaneswar outlined different challenges those are being faced by the researchers in the area of power electronic applications for hydro power plants. He started with the basics of different types of hydropower plants and discussed on the regulations of Central Electricity Authority of India on hydro power generation. He elaborated his research works on excitation systems in large hydro, power converters, two-stage protection of converters and thermal loading.

After completion of the lecture, Prof. Chinmoy Kumar Panigrahi and Prof. Sarat Chandra Swain appreciated the way the speaker has delivered the content and emphasized on various challenges in the research work. The event was finally concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Ranjeeta Patel.

All participants appreciated the speaker’s assessment of the future scope of the research work. The program was coordinated by Dr. Srikanth Allamsetty, FIC, Tech Talk. During the talk, all faculty members, IEEE student members and Research Scholars of the School were present.
