School of Electrical Engineering observed National Energy Conservation Day

As you know, December 14th, every year, has been observed as the National Energy Conservation Day. School of Electrical Engineering conducted one quiz test to encourage and motivate students to achieve the objective of Energy Conservation and enhanced energy efficiency in the present context of climate change. The quiz test was conducted on google platform mode. Mr.Ankit kumar and Mr.Arya Pradyumn Gupta of 1st year, B.Tech Electrical Engineering branch got the 1st prize. Dr.Arjyadhara Pradhan, Dr.Babita Panda and Dr.Srikant Allamshetty co-ordinated the event.

The panel discussion on “Circulating Economy in Green Energy Sector and he Future Ahead” was organized on 29th August 2020 from 10.30am to 11.30am in Google Meet platform  The Founder and CEO of Greenomics World of Grinity Intellect Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Ahis Parida was the invited speaker. He spoke about three aspects of Wind Energy, Solar Photo Voltaic Energy and Recycling of Solar Photo Voltaic Systems. He reiterated about creating start up ventures from new thoughts. Prof. Ankit Soni who was the co-host asked one question after the deliberations. Ms. Bibhuti Sharma, Mr. Rishav Bhagat and Mr. Mrityunjay Roy asked one question each. All the questions were answered very well by the speaker. Dr. MK Maharana, Dr. BK Nayak, Prof. Subrat Behera, Madam Kritika Kaul, Madam AAO Mrs. Susree Subitita were among the prominent participants. Lastly, Dr. Srikanta Mohapatra proposed the vote of thanks on behalf of the Honorable Founder, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Driector-SOEE, Dr. CK Panigrahi, the CR  & IE members and the participants. The host Dr. Srikanta Mohapatra signed off along with Prof. Ankit Soni. Two photographs are attached for corroboration.

KIIT School of Electrical Engineering organized a workshop on “Career and Personal Branding” on 29th August 2020 at 10:00am on virtual mode.

Ms. Shivani Talesar, International Speaker and Thought Leader, Singapore delivered the talk on Career and Personal Branding .  She focused on the key aspects like career path, common mistakes during job search, meaningful networking, customizing resume, importance of hybrid skill sets. She emphasized on personal branding and use of social media at right point of time.

Mr. Swetaketu Baidya, Director (Technology & Operations),Singapore –    Inovaantage Pvt Ltd put his opinion regarding job opportunities during COVID situation. He emphasized on attending short term courses during this pandemic time to enhance the knowledge skills.

Ms. Nisha Tiwari, HR & Operations (Manager) India Inovaantage Pvt. Ltd expressed her views regarding equality of job opportunities for both boys and girls.Girls should decide the type of jobs they want to take irrespective of any gender bias.

Prof Subhendu Mishra, School of Electrical Engineering, extended a warm welcome to the speaker & coordinated the session. Dr. Chinmoy kumar Panigrahi , Director School of Electrical Engineering emphasized on how to bridge the gap between research and the real time job world and also motivated students with his views to have a bright career.  Faculty members, B. Tech, M. Tech students as well as research scholars of the school were present during the workshop session. The session ended with vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Arjyadhara Pradhan.

Alumni Talk Series by Sarbajit Paul on 25/7/2020

Sarbajit Paul, an alumnus of 2013 Pass out batch (Electrical Engineering) has delivered a talk to the existing students on Virtual mode. He is presently working with Mechatronics System Research Laboratory (MSRL), Dong-A University & Korea Electro-Technology Research Institute (KERI), South Korea. He has a number of accolades added to his career such as Australia Award Endeavour Fellow (2017-18), Korean Government Scholar(2013-16) etc. He has a vast areas of interest includes Actuators, mechatronics system, Electromechanical energy conversion, Personal Aerial Vehicles, Energy Harvesters. Further, he is a number of research collaborations with various eminent researchers across the globe. He has completed various research projects funded by different agencies; and published patents & indexed papers in prestigious journals, conferences which is adding feather to his crown.

He has ignited the young minds through his motivational presentation titled “Electrical Engineering – Vision, Progress and future Roadmap.” He also interacted with the student participants and shared his views regarding prospects of higher studies, scholarships, research possibilities in future.

A handsome number of undergraduate and postgraduate students attended the session that sparked onto the young minds vis-à-vis. Prof.SubhenduBikashSantra has actively organized and moderated the whole event.

Motivational Talk On Meditation and Yoga on 19/7/2020

School of Electrical Engineering conducted Meditation and Yoga session on 19/7/2020 for faculties, research scholars and staffs. The Programme started at around 8:00pm and eminent speakers like Mr. Girija Shankar Das, Mr. Prasant Padhi Mr. Alok Satpathy conducted the session with an objective to enlighten mind, motivation for improving work culture , and healthy stress free life style. The session was conducted on an online platform due to Covid 19.

International Women’s Day Celebration

KIIT School of Electrical Engineering organized different activities like Workshops, quizzes, debates focusing on gender sensitization, equality, women’s health, education, empowerment, safety and security etc for International Women’s Day, 2020 on 6th March, 2020 at School premises. Musical performance was made by lady faculty members and girl students as well. Both staffs and students were given open platform to express their views on gender equality and women hood. A cake cutting ceremony was also done to cherish the contribution of every woman for the department. During session, students and lady staffs of the School participated actively in discussion on challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women’s achievements.

Alumni Meet 2019

Every year during the time of convocation alumni meet is conducted for the passout alumni present in the convocation programme. In this get-together student alumni co-ordinator is selected for the concerned batch.Alumni meet 2019 was organised by School of Electrical Engineering at conference hall, campus 3 at 5:00pm on 8/11/2019. The event was chaired by the Director, Prof Dr. C.K Panigrahi and Associate Dean Prof Dr. S.C Swain. The alumni of the school present in the event shared their experience. There was an interactive session between alumni with the present B.Tech students and faculty.
