“IoT & Embedded PLC” Summer Training Program,2021
The School of Electrical Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University organized a 30-days hands-on-training on “IOT & Embedded PLC” in the fields of Fundamental to IoT, Cloud Computing, PCB Design, Domain & Hosting for end-user applications, PLC ladder to SCADA. The course was designed to enable the participants to acquire the basics to advance knowledge through virtual platforms.
Dr. Subhra Debdas, Associate professor School of Electrical Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University was associated as a key personnel for the entire training program. The preparation was led with dynamic help of TAs Md. Aftab Alam, Mr. Kamal Kanta Swain, Mr. Srinibas Das, Ms. Monalisa Dash and Ms. Bishnupriya Panigrahi. The program was fastidiously led under the capable administration of Dr. Byamakesh Nayak, Dean, SoEE and Prof. Subrat Behara, Associate Dean (T&P),SoEE. There were around 47 participants B.TECH to M.TECH level students from across schools, who attended the training programme with their involvement in solving real life projects related to company demands.
Summer Training Programme on “LabVIEW & Interfacing”
The summer training programme on ‘LabVIEW & Interfacing’ organized by School of Electrical Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University has successfully completed after a rigorous one month schedule started from 1 st June, 2021. Prof. Subrat Behera, Assoc. Dean, T&P and FIC Training Program initiated this course as a part of industrial training activities. Mr. Md Aftab Alam arranged the programme and helps in smooth execution in virtual mode.
This training programme is successfully conducted by Prof. Subhendu Bikash Santra with the active involvement of Mr. Nabakishore Dash, Mr. K.C. Barik and Mr. Surat Behera. Dr. Byamakesh Nayak, Dean of the School guided throughout the programme as per current industrial requirements.
The entire programme is well coordinated by Ms. Susree Subinita, AAO, School of Electrical Engineering.
Valedictory Function of Faculty Development Program (FDP)-2021 by School of Electrical Engineering
KIIT School of Electrical Engineering organized Faculty Development Program(FDP)-2021 “Exploring Self: A New Paradigm in Education” with the theme “Recent Advances in Electrical Engineering” on virtual mode during 20 th -26 th June 2021. The FDP has been validated with the presence of key dignitaries and participants on 26 th June’2021. As many as 80 participants attended with external participants of reputed universities from all over country. The FDP was conducted for 30 hours with eminent speakers from India as well as abroad.

Dr. C. K. Panigrahi, Director QA cell appreciated the coordination and theme of the program. Dr. S. C. Swain, Professor, School of Electrical Engineering elaborated teaching learning process which may be boosted through research and faculty Development Programs. Speaking at the inaugural program Dr. M. K. Maharana focused on the meaning of FDP which is organized annually with a goal .Dr. Subhra Debdas highlighted on the improvement of teaching learning process through adoption of skill development programs on recent technologies.Prof. Subrat Behera, Associate Dean, Training & Placement discussed about the modalities of the FDPs. Dr. Sarita Samal proposed the vote of thanks. . The Inaugural function witnessed around 80 no of participants.
MATLAB Training Program organized by the School of Electrical Engineering
The School of Electrical Engineering has organized a 15 days hands on training on MATLAB in the fields of Basic Programming, and simulations on Electrical Circuits, Power electronics, solar PV, Power System. The course was so designed that the participants may be able to acquire the basic knowledge of applying their theoretical understanding into existence through virtual platform. There were around 95 participants attended the training from different schools with their utmost involvement in solving assignments time to time basis and on class discussions also. The Faculty members involved in the training program were Dr. Satyaranjan Jena, Dr. Aliva Mohapatra, Dr. Sriparna Roy Ghatak, Prof. Subodh Mohanty, Prof. Tapas Roy, Dr. Tanmoy Roy Choudhury with active support of TAs Mr. Ajay Ku Sahu, Ms. Sasmita Kar. The program has been meticulously governed under the able leadership of Dr. Byamakesh Nayak, Dean, SoEE. As a part of the training program, Dr. Dipankar Debnath, Assistant Professor, Dept. of electrical Engineering, IIT Kharagpur shared his expertise on the concepts of EV design through Matlab simulation.
The school is in a plan to float such type of programs in future also.
KIIT School of Electrical Engineering Inaugurated Domain Training on ‘Fundamentals of Electrical Science’
School of Electrical Engineering of KIIT Deemed to be University inaugurated a 30 hour on line domain training on “Fundamentals of Electrical Science” on 10th June 2021 for 2020 admitted batch students. Objective of this domain training is to enhance knowledge in core subjects, to familiarize with different problem solving techniques and to develop critical thinking skills among budding engineers.
Speaking at the inaugural program, Dr. Byamakesh Nayak, Dean SOEE, highlighted the importance of basic core concepts in electrical engineering and its real world examples, Dr. Rudra Narayan Dash, B Tech Program Head, discussed the significance of the training for preparing thecompetitive engineering examinations and interviews. Dr. Banishree Misra, coordinator of the program, welcomed all guests, experts and students, and also elaborated the objective of conducting this domain training. Prof. Snehalika, expert of the domain, discussed about the modalities of the course. Prof. Lipsa Subhadarshini anchored the session and proposed the vote of thanks.
KIIT School of Electrical Inaugurates Training on Matlab Fundamentals on 24.05.2021
The school has inaugurated a 15 days virtual training session on Matlab Fundamentals in two batches comprising 75 students in each.
During the welcome address the Coordinator of the Program Dr. Tanmoy Roy Choudhury welcomed all the guests, students and participants, and also discussed about the modalities of the course. Dr. Chinmoy Kumar Panigrahi, Professor and Director, IQAC had appreciated the attempt of the school in developing skills among students during this pandemic time. In his speech, Dr. Sarat Chandra Swain, Professor and Jt. Director, Skills has emphasized on the use of Matlab knowledge in Electrical analysis. Dr. Sriparna Roy Ghatak, Assistant Professor and Expert of the program shared her views on the domain specific knowledge applications she will be undertaking during the training program.
Dr. Byamakesh Nayak, Dean of the school has emphasized about the cumulative effort of the school in bringing out this training program a success within a short span of time. Also he iterated about few applications of Matlab tools in Research and Project.
Dr. Satyaranjan Jena, Co-cordinator of the program proposed the vote of thanks. The inaugural program was witnessed by around 120 participants including Students, Faculty members, Technical Assistants.
Summer training on Modeling and Control of Power
School of Electrical Engineering has conducted online summer training on Modeling and Control of Power (from 1st week of august 2020) through Google meet virtual platform. M.Tech and B.Tech Students of different schools are enrolled for this program.
This training program divided into two parts.
First the course will cover the fundamental concepts of single line diagram of power system, bus admittance matrix formation, power flow calculation, modeling of transformer for load flow study, economic generation of power and complete study and analysis of a system. This study will be perform with the help of Power World software. The second phase covers the fundamental concepts of power generation, distribution, quality, monitoring, and troubleshooting of power. Online and portable power monitoring and testing concepts are detailed. Power quality measurements are also introduced with
common applications using NI instruments.

One Month summer training on Industrial Automation and IoT from 13th July to 15th August, 2020
School of Electrical Engineering has conducted online summer training on Industrial Automation and IoT through Google meet virtual platform. MTech and BTech Students of different schools previously enlisted and began learning of these front line advancements. The current number of IoT gadgets in India is around 60 million and the number is going to increment to 1.9 billion units before the end of 2020. The IoT showcase in India is ready to reach $15 billion by 2020, representing 5% of the worldwide market, according to a NASSCOM report. IBM-Blumix and Google Cloud, PLC-HMI stage consider as a key component in this program to satisfy the industry need.

KIIT School of Electrical Engineering, in association with Schneider Electric Private Limited organizes an International Webinar Series with technically co-sponsored by IEEE Bhubaneswar subsection, Industrial Electronics Society Chapter, Bhubaneswar and IEEE Consumer Electronics Chapter, Bhubaneswar on Microsoft team platform from 01 July to 04 July, 2020.
The 1st session for the International Webinar Series on the “IOT & Advanced Technologies in Home and Building Automation Energy Management and Industry 4.0” commenced on 1st July, 2020.
Mr. Ramakanth Kumuthe, Deputy Manager, Lighting Controls, Home and Distribution, Schneider Electric showcased a complete advanced technology known as KNX technology which can be integrated with regular electrical installations for converting them into smarter applications. During the session, around 345 participants including faculty members of SoEE across the globe were present.

KIIT School of Electrical Engineering conducted an online Inaugural Function during FDP (School Level) on 23rd June, 2020. At the outset, Dr. Sarat Chandra Swain, Associate Dean, SoEE placed the Welcome Address. Dr. Subhra Debdas, and Prof. Subrat Behera, Associate Dean (T&P) briefed about the potential of emerging trends in Engineering and Research facilities in SoEE. Mr. Ashish Pandey, Corporate Trainer, Solution Space Limited addressed the participants about scope and applications of AI Machine learning, IoT and Edge Computing in present context.
Mr. Amarnath Durgale, Deputy Manager-Education and Didactic Sustainable Development-Global Strategy, Schneider Electric talked on Industrial Automation and Energy Management in all sectors. Dr. Pritam Kumar Gujrati, Ministry of Manpower, Sultanate of Oman discussed on Artificial Intelligence and Computational Intelligence for electric vehicles. Dr. Chinmoy Kumar Panigrahi, Director, SoEE highlighted about sustainability of different courses & training programs with active involvement of industry like Schneider Electric. Mr. Sai Krishna Rao, General Manager, Education and Training, addressed the gathering about the role and responsibility of Schneider Electric for educational Institutions like KIIT.
Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, KIIT Deemed to be University addressed the faculty members about the importance of FDP and he appreciated the area chosen for FDP as AI & IoT Devices and Industry automation. Ten Days Hands on Training of Trainers on PLC ( 14TH to 23rd March 2020)
School of Electrical Engineering conducted ten days training programme on PLC for the trainers from 14th March to 23rd March, 2020. In this in-house training programme both faculties and technical assistant participated. Prof Subhro Debdas very nicely explained the working of PLC with lot of examples and hands on practice.
One Day Hands on Training on AI and Machine Learning, by Mr. Sukesh Adhikary, 10th August 2019
School of Electrical Engineering Conducted One day hands on Training on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning on 10th August, 2019.Mr. Sukesh Adhikary was the keynote speaker. He explained various AI techniques, Python etc. Near about 60 students participated in this programme.
