1. Dr.Srikant Allamshetty has received recommendation for a research project titled “Application of non-thermal atmospheric pressure plasma jet for conservation and preservation of heritage of Odisha State” submitted under Science and Heritage Research Initiative (SHRI) programme of DST in 2022.

4.Dr.Sriparna Ghatak has received grant of Rs 1830000 for the project titled “Development of GaN-FET Based high efficiency Bidirectional DC-DC Converter with zero input current ripple for PV application” from DST-SERB in 2021.

5.Prof Subhendu Bikash Santra has received grant of Rs 1830000 for the project titled “ Development of cost-effective energy management strategies for a green hydrogen based electric vehicle charging station”from DST-SERB in 2021.

6.Dr.Subhra Debdas has received grant of Rs 1890000 for the project titled Self Urinary disease detection system” from MOE's Innovation cell Government of India in 2021.

KIIT Faculty Delivers Talk at Bangladesh University of Business & Technology, IEEE student chapter

Dr. Alivarani Mohapatra, Assistant Professor, School of Electrical Engineering, delivered a talk on the theme "Identifying A Research Problem" at a webinar on 20th November 2021 organized by IEEE student branch of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT). She highlighted the importance of research and identifying a research problem. During her talk, she elaborated on the characteristics of outstanding research and a researcher's required skills and habits. Taking a case study, she explained the different components of the research and the methodologies to reach the goal. Many researchers and students interacted with Dr. Mohapatra and asked their queries. The organizer of the conference, Md. Tabil Ahammed, Chairperson, IEEE BUBT student chapter, appreciated the talk and thanked Dr. Mohapatra.

  • Dr. Byamakesh Nayak, Professor & Dean, School of Electrical Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University delivered a talk on “Grid Synchronisation: Challenges and Overcomes” at SOA Weekly Academic Lecture (SOAWAL) organised by SOA Deemed to be University on 4th September 2021 as a Keynote Speaker in virtual mode.
  • Dr. Rudranarayan Senapati and Dr.Chitralekha Jenaboth working as Assistant Professor in School of Electrical Engineering has been awarded by  Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell and All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) for their Exceptional Contribution as ‘Judge’ in TOYCATHON 2021.Under the ‘AatmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ initiated by our Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri. Narendra Modi, Toycathon-2021 is conceived to challenge India’s innovative minds to conceptualize novel Toy and Games based on Bharatiya civilization, history, culture, mythology and ethos.
  • Dr. Sarat Chandra Swain, Professor, KIIT School of Electrical Engineering & Joint Director-Skill Project chaired a session at the 2nd International Conference on “Recent Trends in Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering for Environmental and Sustainable Development”, organized by School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Reva University, Bengaluru , 22/7/2021.

  • The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering INC (IEEE) has bestowed appreciation on Prof. Chinmoy Kumar Panigrahi, Chair, IEEE Kolkata Section Consumer Technology Society Chapter-Bhubaneswar for 2020-21 for rendering remarkable services and contributions towards the advancement of IEEE and Engineering Professions. Currently, Prof. Panigrahi is serving as the Professor, School of Electrical Engineering and Director, Quality Assurance, KIIT-DU.

  • Pampa Sinha and Dr. Chitralekha Jena have received grant for the patent titled “Thermal screening system and method” from government of India, IP India for a period of 20 years ,2021.
  • Arjyadhara Pradhan and Dr. Babita Panda have received certificate of Registration of Design for the patent titled “ Vegetable and fruit washer” from Government of India, Patent office, 2021.
  • Pampa Sinha and Dr. Chitralekha Jena have received “ Certificate of Appreciation” for All women B plan competition, WE Magazine held on 4th March 2021.
  • Arjyadhara Pradhan, Dr. Babita Panda, Dr. Srikanta Mohapatra, Dr.Lipika Nanda, Dr.Sarita Samal, Dr.Banishree Misra, Soubhagya ranjan Prusty, Geetanjali Dei received “Certificate of Grant” for an innovation patent for a period of eight years named “Solar based double channel water purification system for rural people” from Australian Government , IP Australia, 2021.

  • Tanmoy Roy Chowdhury as (Organising Chair) organized the first ever flagship conference (WIECON – ECE) under the banner of IEEE Bhubaneswar Subsection in collaboration with IEEE Bangladesh Section during 26-27th Dec 2020.

  • Ranjeeta Patel has got three patents published in September, 2020 named as 1) A novel hybrid renewable power platform to harvest wind, solar and water current power from running water channel. 2) A novel nanosilver hand rub sanitizer gel. 3) A novel phenotypic antimicrobial resistance testing using cost effective integrated biochip.

  • IEEE Industrial Electronics Society Chapter has been formed under Bhubaneswar Subsection with a leading role of Tanmoy Roy Choudhury being the Founder Chair of the chapter along with other Faculty members leading the society.
  • Chinmoy Kumar Panigrahi has been assigned as the Founder Chair for IEEE Consumer Electronics Society under Bhubaneswar Subsection.
  • Tanmoy Roy Choudhury, Counsellor of Youth Red Cross, KIIT Unit has been received the highest blood donor college award from Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch during National Level Training Camp of volunteers organized by IRCS, OSB.
  • Pampa Sinha and Dr. Chitralekha Jena has got a project titled “Thermal screening door with face recognition technique and auto disinfection facility” sanctioned by industry Vijayshree Autocom Ltd, for an amount of Rs 10,00,000/ .
  • Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, KIIT, deemed to be University got Odisha State Energy Conservation Award 2019 for Best Performance in terms of energy savings and conservation .Various Energy saving projects like 40 Watt tube light changed to 10 Watt led light, Campus Street light 25 Watt CFL changed to 8 Watt led light, Installation of Solar water heating system on the top of hostel building, Rooftop solar installation, Dedicated feeder from Chandaka grid (33kv), Use of capacitor bank for improving power factor. Thus for the year 2018-2019 KIIT saved a total of 324 Lakh Kwh energy @ Rs 1,27,04,744.782/.
