School of Electrical Engineering, KIIT University organized a Project Expo on 4 November 2025 to highlight the innovation, design skills, and technical proficiency of fifth-semester students enrolled in the System Design of Industrial IoT laboratory. The event served as a structured platform through which students demonstrated their understanding of cyber-physical systems, embedded design principles, and Industrial IoT solutions developed over the semester.
The program was conducted under the academic leadership of Assistant Professor Ankit Kumar Soni, Lab Coordinator for the Cyber-Physical and Industrial IoT Laboratory, and Associate Professor Subhra Debdas, Faculty-in-Charge of IoT. Their combined guidance enabled students to translate theoretical concepts into functional prototypes addressing practical engineering challenges. The event also benefited significantly from the technical support of K. K. Swin, Surath Behera, and Anjana Satpathy, whose contributions ensured an effective hands-on learning environment throughout the course.
A major highlight of the Expo was the formal project evaluation session, during which student teams presented their work to an expert panel comprising Dr. Ranjeet Patel, Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering; Prof. C. K. Panigrahi, Director of the School of Electrical Engineering; Dr. Dilip Behera from SOEE; and Prof. Subhrat Behera, Associate Dean of Training and Placement. Each submission was assessed on its technical rigor, clarity of presentation, quality of system integration, and potential real-world applicability. The interaction between students and evaluators fostered a professional design-review setting that encouraged critical thinking and constructive feedback.
The Project Expo successfully demonstrated the School’s commitment to experiential learning and industry-oriented education. By enabling students to articulate complex ideas, defend their design decisions, and exhibit functional IoT systems, the event reinforced the School’s emphasis on competence building and innovation-driven pedagogy.
