School of Electrical Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University inaugurated five-day Faculty Development Program-2021 on virtual mode. Speaking at the inaugural session, Dr. B. K. Nayak, Dean, School of Electrical Engineering welcomed the dignitaries and experts, who would take various sessions, and introduced the theme of FDP-2021.

Appreciating the participation of the internal faculties with an opportunity to enlighten the research platforms which the School has always supported, he emphasized the significance of FDP by citing examples and encouraged research on evolving techniques in the area of electrical engineering. He also cited passionate vision and hard work of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS and thanked eminent speakers, Prof. Dipankar Debnath, IIT Kharagpur, Dr. Santanu Kapat, IIT Kharagpur, Dr. Sanjeet Dwivedi, Danfoss, Denmark, Mr. Deepak Saini, BHEL, Bhopal and others for their consent.

Dr. C. K. Panigrahi, Director, QA Cell appreciated the coordination and theme of the program. He highlighted the importance and effect of the same on teaching and learning process. Such programs lead to personal and professional development of every individual, he stated, while motivating participants for interdisciplinary research which will strengthen the USP of the School. Dr. S. C. Swain, Professor, School of Electrical Engineering elaborated the teaching learning process which may be boosted through research and Faculty Development Programs. These are great platforms to learn from each other, he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. M. K. Maharana focused on the meaning of FDP which is organized annually with a goal. FDP showcases the knowledge which every individual faculty has acquired or tries to acquire from the external eminent speakers. Dr. Subhra Debdas highlighted the improvement of teaching learning process through adoption of skill development programs on recent technologies. The students must be skilled in order to be industry ready. The start-ups and recent technologies are leading the way ahead as there is a huge opportunity in the future as per global scenario.

Prof. Subrat Behera, Associate Dean, Training & Placement discussed the modalities of the FDPs. The meticulously designed topics will lead to knowledge transfer among all the participants. He stressed the opportunity which these programs lay down for all the researchers.

The FDP is coordinated by Dr. Sarita Samal, Dr. Subrat Behera and Dr. Ranjeeta Patel. Dr. Sarita Samal proposed the vote of thanks at the inaugural session. About 80 participants attended the session.
