On 17th December 2024, the School of Electrical Engineering, KIIT had the privilege of hosting an engaging guest lecture by Dr. Sambeet Mishra from the University of Southeast Norway. Dr. Sambeet Mishra is our proud alumnus who has completed both his B. Tech and M. Tech from School of Electrical Engineering, KIIT. The topic of the session, Electricity Market Operation in Scandinavia, offered invaluable insights into real-time electricity market operations and the challenges of managing dynamic electricity markets.
Dr. Mishra delved into various market structures, such as the Day-Ahead Market, Intraday Market, and Spot Market, and explained how conventional and renewable energy sources collaborate to meet dynamic load demands. The discussion was tailored to complement the 6th-semester course on Power System Operation Control and Protection. Students gained a deeper understanding of real-time market operations and the complexities of dynamic electricity markets.
