Sarat Chandra Swain

Dr. Sarat Ch. Swain, Ph.D., brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role as Professor at the School of Electrical Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University. With a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from KIIT University in 2010 and an ME from UCE Burla in 2001, Dr. Swain has dedicated 27 years to the field of teaching and research. Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Swain has made significant contributions to the academic community. He has authored more than 200 research papers, which have been published in reputed international journals and IEEE conferences indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholars. His research interests span a wide range of topics, including Application of A.I. Techniques, Soft Computing, FACTS Controllers, Power System Stability Improvement, PV Modelling, and Grid Interconnection of Photovoltaic Solar Systems. Dr. Swain's commitment to nurturing future scholars is evident in his supervision of more than 11 Ph.D. scholars and 45 M.Tech. scholars to date. His mentorship and guidance have played a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of researchers in the field of electrical engineering. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Dr. Swain has received numerous accolades and awards. He has been honoured with research paper awards and appreciations, including recognition for his work on TI Embedded System Design using MSP430 MCU MOOC, which fosters an ecosystem bridging government, academia, and industry. Additionally, he was awarded the Best Staff Award for Teaching in 2011 by the Honourable Founder of KIIT and KISS, Prof. (Dr.) Achyuta Samanta. Dr. Swain's dedication to excellence in teaching and research continues to inspire his students alike, and his contributions serve as a testament to his passion for advancing the field of electrical engineering. He has published three patents, one of which has been granted, showcasing his innovative contributions to the field of electrical engineering. Currently, he is actively engaged in three consultancy projects, furthering his impact to the field of electrical engineering.
